La Thuile Ski Resort
Located in Italy’s most famous ski region, the Aosta Valley, La Thuile is situated in the most northwestern point of the country. La Thuile ski area is a part of the larger Espace San Bernardo ski resort – a lift ticket earns admission to 160 kilometers (99 miles) of terrain accessed via 38 lifts. In fact, you can ski into France from La Rosiere ski area. La Thuile enjoys great snow conditions thanks to its north-facing, high Alpine locale, its base elevation sits at about 4,700 feet and its summit rises to 8,700 feet. Ski season in La Thuile lasts from November to the end of April, but adventurous skiers and boarders can experience glacial skiing during the summer months on the Rutor and Miravidi glaciers.
Thanks to a smaller number of hotels and high-efficiency lift capabilities you’ll rarely have to wait in a lift line at La Thuile. Because of the smaller number of hotels – and restaurants – La Thuile enjoys a quiet nightlife scene. If you’re looking for a more lively nightlife experience head to Courmayeur.
