Your Jackson Hole Ski Vacation
The Big One Is Back
Bigger, Faster, Stronger... And with all of the pomp
and ceremony that this ski industry icon deserves, the new Jackson Hole Tram is back
and living up to all of the hype. After a full two-years, and over $30 million dollars
Anyone who's already ridden the new Jackson Hole Tram will tell you that it was well
worth the wait. The new tram whisks 100 lucky skiers and snowboarders to the top of
Rendezvous in under 10 minutes with a sleeker design and lower profile towers allowing
the tram to operate safely in higher winds and satisfy the most die-hard powder fans.
Jackson Hole is Legendary
With 2,500 acres of inbounds terrain, a 4,139' vertical rise, 459" of average
snowfall each winter, and unparalleled backcountry access, Jackson Hole offers a truly
unique ski or snowboard experience. Two distinct mountains in the heart of the Tetons - Rendezvous
and Apres Vous - make up Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and have been home to incredible
skiing and snowboarding for the past 40 years. Whether you come to experience "The
Big One's" wild, untamed terrain, rolling, wide-open groomers, or you're just getting out
on the snow for the first time, it's bound to be an incredible ski experience.
Get Further Away!
Quite simply, Jackson Hole is legendary.
It is a ski mountain that could stand alone with stats and figures that
dwarf other mountains, but Jackson Hole is much, much more. With a
deeply rich history, a rugged western culture, and a hometown warmth
that welcomes new and returning visitors year after year, Jackson Hole
stands tall as one of the country's premier ski and snowboard resort destinations.
Come see for yourself! Try to decide if it's the abundant snow and endless
terrain, or nightlife that ranges from historic saloons, to exquisite
cuisine prepared by world renown chefs. Maybe its having all of the
comforts of home combined with a Vertical rise of 4,139 feet
(greatest continuous rise in U.S.) right out your door, or
being pampered in any number of 5-star resort hotels. It could be
the incredible kids programs or the hypnotic views of the majestic
Teton range. Whatever it is, you can be sure that you won't want to
leave and that Jackson Hole will be on your 'short list' of favorite destinations.
An experience for the Whole Family
There is something here for the whole family. Named the top family resort in the Rockies
by Family Fun Magazine, the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort offers the award-winning Kids
Ranch, considered by many parents to be one of the best-kept secrets in the west. Parents
who use the Ranch know the value and caliber of the programs is unsurpassed. Small classes,
personal attention, a slope-side location, rentals and retail available at check-in, all
add up to an easier and more enjoyable experience for both kids and parents. The ranch
also offers daycare, ski and snowboard lessons, and Team Extreme, a unique ski and
snowboard camp for kids 12 and older. "Team Extreme is the perfect alternative to
traditional ski school lessons for advanced teens. We try to keep the kids for four days
straight, so the experience is more like a Steep and Deep Camp for juniors," said program
director Mike Jansen. "We teach mountain and personal safety, terrain assessment techniques,
and the rudiments of backcountry equipment, travel and route finding. Team Extreme kids
often get to ride with Jackson Hole sponsored athletes, such as Tommy Moe, Micah Black,
Travis Rice and Jamie Sundberg."
Rich in History, Culture, and Wonderful Local Flavor
In the time since the trappers reigned, Jackson has evolved into a world class ski resort
famous for its unparalleled terrain (frequently named as the best ski resort for
terrain by the readers of Ski Magazine) and a town famous for its blend of the rugged and
the refined. Today Jackson is home to several world class resorts and spas, exceptional
dining, and countless choices for entertainment and shopping. The town, replete with wooden
sidewalks in the style of the Old West, has more than 50 restaurants, shops, theaters, and
tubing parks. And with both Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park at its
doorstep, much of Jackson still resembles that wild and alluring country that proved
irresistible for those famous explorers and fur trappers who settled here long ago. It's no
wonder Skiing Magazine named Jackson the number one ski town to move to in the U.S.
